Your poem is amazing Christina. Full of the light of a spinning disco ball. Amazing what we can do when under pressure. It's all within us just waiting to pour out.

Your poetry immersion sounds an inspiring and healing experience. Something I'd love to do. In the mean time I go along to my local open mic nights once a month, if I can manage it around the kids and other commitments, and read something raw and unfiltered. It's a lot of fun, nerve wracking, life enhancing and open hearting!

Thank you for sharing. 🙏

When Death Comes

The disappointment will be overwhelming

The wasted moments

The wasted hate

The wasted love

The wasted years

All those days of killing time

Waiting

Hoping

Praying

For who knows what

Faded memories seen from above

The piling up of failures

As father

As husband

As friend

When Death comes I will be exhausted

I find Spotify is also good for poets reading their work. And although he is not a poet I go back again and again to Richard Burton reading Under Milk Wood. I laugh every time at “the tidy wives”.
